What will a rider gain from BlackStone Tek’s Carbon Fibre
Wheels?
In motorcycle racing the rider is confronted with problems of
controlling the motorcycle at speed around corners. Part of this
problem stems from the relatively high mass of the wheel which is
unsprung weight. Unsprung weight is the most important weight to
minimise on a motorcycle, and is particularly significant at high
speeds. There are a number of advantages to carbon fibre that
ultimately lead to superior handling and machine performance:
Low mass resulting in a lower unsprung mass; faster
cornering, later braking, improved acceleration – in all, faster lap
times. Imagine the difference you’ll experience from an offset rear
wheel that weighs a mere 2.7 kg!
Extra Riding Fun:
• easier riding with less exertion - Lower rotational inertia
results in quick and responsive steering with less driver fatigue;
