In tests undertaken on the wheels, they demonstrated a 30% reduction in weight when compared to a conventional magnesium wheel, and since the weight saving comes from the spokes and the rim, the mass of the wheel is concentrated in the hub to the benefit of rotational inertia.

The wheels also create a substantial reduction in flywheel and gyroscopic effects making the bike accelerate, change direction, corner and brake faster. Of particular benefit are the faster directional changes permitted by the reduction in gyroscopic effect, which in turn opens the way to greater rider sensitivity.
